Mark Poole

• Currently is the Construction Safety Specialist with the BBC. An electrician by trade, Mark later returned to college to obtain a design qualification for electrical installations before moving into Health and Safety. Mark holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management from the University of Portsmouth and is a Chartered Member of IOSH as well as a member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management.
• Mark sat on the CONIAC CDM Working group as well as the CONIAC CDM Guidance Group for CDM 2007 also lead author for the industry guidance for clients.

Tom Harper

• Originally a pupil with John Laing Tom has undertaken a wide variety of on site roles. In his early 30s he left the industry for 3 years to study theology. His passion for health and safety has been driven by a concern for people in the workplace.  He spoke at the launch of the industry Working Well Together Campaign in the South West on behalf of Pearce Group. He became the first regional chair and oversaw the development of a nationally recognised health and safety course for construction designers. In 2007 he was recognised for services to health and safety in construction by the award of an MBE. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building and a member of IOSH. He is the Director of Constructing Excellence South West and also works part time for ISG Pearce Group
